Can I use multiple RapidWeaver files to make a single site and still get my sitemap.xml correct?
Starting with sitemap 2.0 there is a feature called 'Multi Rapidweaver files' It lets you use more than one RapidWeaver file to publish to a single site.
For example you have a site that grows too big so you split it into two files, one contains you blog and photo gallery and one contains everything else. The problem is you still want Google to index your entire site -- Before this feature you were stuck as the sitemap page only knows about the pages in it's file and won't know about the others.
To use this feature go to the Page Inspector and click on the page settings to the 'Sitemap' tab and select 'Enable Multi RapidWeaver File Siemaps'
Beneath it you will see a list of all saved sitemaps you can link to -- Select the other RapidWeaver files you want to link to and re-publish. Note: You will need to do this for all the files that are part of the web page.
Once you do this a new index file is created (called
sitemap_index.xml) -- This is the one you want to tell google to
index.
